Waves for the weekend – Saturday slop with a window on Sunday

There will be waves this weekend but the weather isn’t going to help us out all that much. I don’t think that either day will be a “surf day” but Sunday looks better than Saturday.

Swellwise we are going to have a SW swell (200-220) that peaks on Saturday and holds/slowly fades through Sunday. NW windswell will be on the rise through Saturday and peak on Sunday.

Wave heights are going to average around waist high with some larger chest high sets at the standard breaks. The top NW facing spots and the best combo areas are going to see shoulder high sets…I wouldn’t be surprised to see some larger waves at the better combo spots on Saturday, but the extra size is likely going to be lost in the building onshore bump.

SW-W winds are forecast to be on tap on Saturday…they will start off in the 5-10 knot range through the morning and then shift more W’erly and top out around 10-15+ knots by the afternoon. There will also be some general weather instability that moves through Friday night…so there is a chance at some rain coming through on Saturday morning as well.

Sunday looks better with light/variable to light-S winds in the morning and W winds around 10-12 knots for the afternoon.

I don’t think that Saturday is going to be all that good…there may be a couple of pockets of rideable surf at the spots that have some protection from the wind but overall I think that we are going to have some sloppy persistent bump that will hamper our fun throughout the day.

Sunday, hopefully, will be better…we will have a little more WNW-NW windswell and the winds will be a bit more favorable. I don’t think it will be great by any means but I think that there will be more breaks that will be rideable, the weather will be nicer, and there will still be some playful swell in the water.

Have a good one…here are the tides.
