Sunday morning mashup - Transworld SURF, More S swell love, and Down The Line Surf Talk Radio

I had been meaning to post a link to my latest Pacific forecastfor the last couple of days but I would end up going to the tranworld SURF website and start watching their model search slide show and then I would uh sort of forget what I was trying to do.

SO I finally managed to put some blinders on and here is the link to the latest forecast update.

Transworld SURF Forecast Update – Another good reason to go to Central America

Hey Gang…my latest Pacific Forecast is posted over on Transworld SURF.
If you guys have the travel bug…I spend some time going over the swell forecast for Central America and Mainland Mexico (both of which will be seeing a solid string of surf for the next week or so…and possibly further out as well). Anyhoo give it a check when you get a chance…

Transworld SURF forecast - Plenty of waves brewing out the back

My latest Pacific Forecast for Transworld SURF is posted over on the TWS website this afternoon. I even got the top billing…because they just posted it…but in the screenshot it totally looks like the forecast is kicking some ass.

Aaaaaanyhoo…the one SPAC storm, that is setting up waves for next week, is forming up a bit better than the wave models thought it would (you have to love the extra-tropical energy)...so it looks like we can add some size to the swell heading toward Hawaii and Tahiti…and even Socal will get a little more consistency (and a touch more size too)…check out the forecast when you get a chance.

Transworld SURF Forecast – the new Pacific forecast is posted

Hey guys…my new Pacific forecast is up over on the Transworldsurf.com website…so if you are looking for some forecasts for the travel regions (or Northern/Central California and Hawaii) you can find it over there. The Transworld gang also apparently likes to post photos of a lot of scantily clad females…possibly to wash off the weather-nerd smell of the forecast. Next week I am going to put the forecast in a thong to see if I can get it top billing. Check it out when you get a chance…

Custom Forecast for the 2010 Vans Pier Classic

The guys over at Transworld SURF asked me to put together a forecast for the2010 Vans Pier Classic contest that is going to run at the HB Pier March 24-28. I thought I would share what I put together…hopefully it will help a few of you (and me too) score a few waves this week while the contest is on…keep in mind that this forecast is just for the South Side of the pier…the other spots in the region will be different, but if you check the pier enough, you will already know how these swells will affect the other breaks…

What: The first stop of the ASP World Qualifying Series North America Tour, The Vans Pier Classic. Plus the Ezekiel Pro Junior contest.
When: March 24-28
Where: The southside of Huntington Beach Pier
Watch it live at http://www.vans.com/

Surf Forecast Summary

Looks like a fun run of surf on tap for the Vans Pier Classic. There will be a decent S-SW swell already in the water as the contest kicks off on Wednesday and there will also be enough WNW-NW energy from local windswell, and a medium-period WNW-NW swell, to break up the bigger Southern Hemi sets. Wednesday and Thursday look like the biggest days with some shoulder-head high sets pushing through on the lower tides. The swell mix slowly backs down on Friday but holds onto enough energy to keep the surf rideable/playful over the weekend.

Weatherwise things look ok…there will be a bit of coastal eddy developing on Thursday that will bring in some overcast skies, fog, and light S-SW winds (basically the standard HB eddy crumble that plagues the region during Spring). Thursday’s wind looks like the funkiest day…by Friday, and on into the weekend, we should see the cleaner morning conditions return.

Keep in mind the tide-swings during the contest…the sandbars around the pier, (well really throughout a lot of Southern California), got chewed up by all the big winter swells and even a couple of feet of tide change can make a big difference.

----------

This is just the summary…click through to the Transworld SURF website to see the day by day breakdown.

Transworld SURF Forecast update – The NPAC quiets down but the SPAC gets rolling

Hey gang…my latest forecast update is over on Transworld SURF. It has all sorts of goodness in it, some N swell for Hawaii, some SW swell for almost everywhere else, and a little combo love for Southern California. Check it out when you get a chance…

http://surf.transworld.net/1000100685/features/hawaii-and-west-coast-weekend-surf-forecast-3/

Oh and you might want to check out some of the new shots from Teahupoo…it looks like they were shot on Thursday (March 17th) which means that this is the SW swell that is heading our way for next week. Look at this screenshot! Sam Hawke (the rider) must have a giant pair...and a wheelbarrow to carry them around.

Hey Gang…my latest forecast is up over on Transworld SURF. I go over that big storm brewing off to the NNW of Hawaii, which if you didn’t read the long-range forecast, is set to send some decent sized WNW swell to Socal…and a much bigger shot to both Hawaii and Northern/Central California.

Transworld SURF - the new forecast is posted

Hey guys...my forecast is up over on Transworld SURF if you want to give it a check.

They also have a couple good shots of all the stormy (and sometimes clean) surf that has been pushing in the last few days.

(BTW...even though this last forecast was posted by Justin...the gang at TWS have built me an account, so future forecasts will actually look like I posted them...And yes that is a giant boot kicking California in the junk.)
