Swell Update - That new S-SSW swell smell....
Lots of new energy hitting the buoys this afternoon...the S swell is even starting to overpower the NW windswell.
Now all we need is the wind to calm the heck down.
slight off-shores till 8:20 cloudy cold.Noon was sunny and warm Then it started pumping; Washing machine!
ReplyDeleteIt was funny to watch people try and paddle out, they'd get about 40-50 feet out then go nowhere/backwards , then they would exhaust and fail. hahaha
waste of a perfectly fun swell. damn winds. what a shame. oh well, plenty more to come, i presume.
ReplyDeleteAnon 11:47, you just need to know where to go. Look at a map, there are plenty of nooks that protect against NW winds.
ReplyDeleteI surfed from 2-5pm on the upcoming tide & swell. While not epic, it was certainly fun. As the OP noted, it was actually sunny and almost warm.
Right now, it's a full on gale. Thankfully, it's a NW wind again, which means there are places that work.
The killer wind in Calif is the (hard) S wind on a S swell. The few nooks that work on that wind are blocked from the swell.
